Teaching

“Another utterly joyful hour spent with the talented and inspiring @charlvaughan exploring singing. Hit her up if you need some technical coaching that’s fun, relaxed and productive.”

Ali James (Showstoppers, Mischief Theatre)

Alongside performing work, I have been teaching singing for around eight years. My aim is to cultivate a safe and relaxed space where we can balance technical exploration with the joy of singing.

I began my own singing learning through classical music; taking part in local competitions, performing as the soloist in Welsh Male Voice Choir concerts and attaining my grade 8 exams in both Classical Singing and Musical Theatre as a teen.

I started my professional training at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama where I completed my BMus(Hons) in classical singing, it was there that I began teaching as part of the degree. I continued on to the the Royal Academy of Music where I received my PGDip in Musical Theatre.

I love the technical elements of singing and I believe every student learns slightly differently. I’m not a one-size-fits-all teacher, I will play around with visual ideas, language and technical exercises until we find what helps the student learn and progress most efficiently. I’ve taught students of varying levels, ages and backgrounds and every student is treated with individual consideration. I like to use inclusive language that makes singing and singing technique accessible and understandable – most importantly I aim for my lessons to be productive and enjoyable.

If this sounds appealing to you, please do get in touch – we can have a chat about any previous experiences you may have of singing, where you’re at on your singing journey and how you would like to improve and develop your voice.
